a romance in stone
Entombed in the paper, abstracted phrases from the archive relating to time, nature and light.
The process of making paper from my grandparents’ books spoke to cycles of loss and repair, having to shred the pages was an emotional experience for me, but was vital to the process to then pulp it, then form a new sheet of paper.
Processes of renewal are key to this project, considering photography’s relationship to environmental descruction and thinking forward to the future of photography.
